About Fredberg
During a flight from the interior to the city Paramaribo, Fred (owner of Fred Ecotours) once saw a mountain with a partially flat granite top. He recognized the area and a few weeks later he tried to find it. After three days of walking through this harsh environment, he finally found the mountain. He needed to come back twice to cut open a path to the top through the dense liana vegetation. The view was so incredible he decided to share this with the tourists and started organizing tours to this location. He discovered that it was still a primary forest with an incredible biodiversity and natural balance! Fleur and I decided to do a part of our research in this area to find out more about the biodiversity and its local species.
