The last trip for many of our friends in Suriname. After arriving on the Coesewijne savanna, we set up camp and went on a night walk. Here we found an amphibian species we hadn't seen before! Whilst I was in the jungle alone, dick was asleep and the others made a campfire and got ready to party. Salsa moves, merengue, bachata; everyone laughing, drinking and having a good old time. Later that night I caught a night jar to show everyone the beautiful creature up close. Not feeling like going to our hammocks to sleep, Nina, Randy and I decide to get cozy around the campfire and sleep under the star-filled sky.
The next morning, we wake up in the scorning heat and continue to rest a little longer in our hammocks. we set up camp in a more swamp-like setting, allowing us to canoe around on the coeserwijne river. Which happens to be home to the seacows, though we were not lucky enough to see those, we did see the squirrel monkeys jump from one side of the river to the other side just in front of our canoe. Just eating and chilling, not minding us at all. All in all a really relaxed weekend with friends.
